The Department of Education and Children has applied for permission to build a timber cabin at an Onchan primary school.
Ashley Hill School on Laurel Avenue says it wants the 12 foot log cabin on its site for educational purposes.
The school says it's already priced the cabin at just under £5,000.
The cabin would sit on a concrete plinth to help prevent it getting damp.
