The Department of Education and Children has applied to put up a canopy over a school play area.
In a planning application, the department says it wants to put up the roof at Scoill Vallajeelt on Meadow Crescent in Douglas.
Plans show the canopy would be over an outdoor play area used by the school's reception class.
The lean-to canopy would be made of polycarbonate and be painted black.
