Manx star Sam Barks is headed to Hollywood after being unveiled live on stage as landing the role of Eponine in the forthcoming film musical of Les Misérables.
It's a role the Laxey girl has made her own since playing her on the West End in 2010 and again at the show's 25th anniversary concert at the O2 arena last year.
The news was broken by theatre legend and Les Mis producer Cameron Mackintosh, who appeared at the curtain call of last nights performance of Oliver! in Manchester.
Sam, who rose to prominence on BBC show 'I'd Do Anything' will be joining a star studded cast including Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway.
The movie is slated for a December 7th opening, meaning she is set to have a very busy schedule of filming in the coming months.
