People are being urged to be more safety conscious when lighting BBQs or campfires this weekend.
Over the TT fortnight firefighters have been called out to three large grass fires - one of which was caused by 'careless BBQ use'.
Residents are being urged to raise the cooking equipment off the ground to allow ventilation and to make sure plenty of water is on hand to cool the ground down afterwards.
Station officer Rodger Brown says people should call 999 immediately if they spot a fire and stay away as they can spread quickly:
