New rules banning the President of Tynwald from serving three terms in a row will be discussed in April.
Onchan MHK Julie Edge will put forward a motion that would ban anyone serving more than two consecutive terms as President or Speaker of the House of Keys.
She also wants new rules that would mean anyone who had served in the posts would be barred from taking up the roles again for five years.
The idea will be debated during April's sitting of the court.
