This time next week, Douglas will have a fresh new face on the nightlife scene.
'Roxy’s Bar & Club' will be moving beneath The Courthouse on Athol Street.
A statement reads "The Courthouse Club was subject to an eye-popping renovation just a few years back, but due to a myriad of factors has struggled to recapture its former glory over the past few years."
The team behind Roxy’s is promising a venue for all walks of life, and tastes in music from disco to indie, and all that falls between.
Landlord of The Ginger Hall Ben Sowrey has taken on the lease, and will staff the club with faces old and new; he said: "We plan to give Douglas a classic night club in the mould of iconic venues like the lido and the venue to name but a few. There’ll be a focus on good eclectic music to get everyone moving, good vibes, live bands and regular well known acts from the UK and further afield."
For their opening night next Friday Radio 1 DJ Dave Pearce will be on the decks.
The club will be open from 10pm next Friday, tickets for the launch can be found if you search 'Roxy's Bar & Club' on Facebook and Instagram.
