Robert Brown gets 26 years in prison for manslaughter of Joanna Brown

Upon handing down the lengthy spell the judge said, You intended to kill and your intention to conceal the body and hide the evidence is clear.

Earlier today it was confirmed that Robert Brown had been cleared of murdering estranged wife and former Island resident Joanna Brown, he had however admitted manslaughter with diminished responsibility.

He has since been sentenced to 26 years in prison.

Although not born on the Island Joanna was the daughter of local popular property developer Chris Simpson, and attended the Buchan School during her time here.

Their two children now reside here, aswell as members of Joanna’s close family.
