Road closure in force this weekend

A section of one of the Island's busiest highways is closed today.

The A1 Douglas to Peel road is shut at Glen Vine between the Glen Darragh Road junction and Ballagarey Road from 6am until 6pm today and tomorrow.

After that the route will re-open again during next week, only to close again next weekend.

The Department of Infrastructure says during those works access to properties will be maintained, and a diversion in place via Glen Darragh Road, Braaid Road, Cooil Road, New Castletown Road and Quarterbridge Road.
