Rider injured in Southern 100 practice

Racing gets underway in the south of the Island later, after a Southern 100 practice session had to be halted.

Organisers say a rider came off his machine at an incident at Church Bends during the opening practice last night.

The rider, who hasn't been named, suffered suspected fractures and was taken to Noble's Hospital by helicopter

This evening, roads will shut around the Billown Circuit from 6pm until 9.40pm while the first three races take place.
