It's been confirmed that the rider who was killed in last night's Southern 100 practice was Douglas man David Jukes.
The 46-year-old died after an incident in the 600cc race on the approach to the Ballakeighan Corner.
Police say details of the incident which happened at around 7.15pm are still unclear and an investigation is underway.
The Coroner of Inquests has been informed.
Southern 100 Racing has expressed its condolences to the rider's family and friends.
