Results gathered from consultation into students entering the workplace

The consultation, launched in April, concentrated on students leaving school at 16 and 18, and those who go onto University or College.

The results have now been collected from the consultation that asked the public how well they think education prepared young people for the workplace.

The consultation, launched in April, concentrated on students leaving school at 16 and 18, and those who go onto University or College.

Among the questions put to the public was whether they think University funding should be more focused on courses that would address the Island’s skills shortages and benefit its economy.

More than 40 people completed the consultation paper.

Education and Children Minister Eddie Teare has said the findings will now be studied closely and help shape future policy.
