An esteemed Doctor working on the Island has today appeared in court charged with obtaining a financial advantage by deception.
The court heard how over a five period he’s allegedly obtained salary benefit to the tune of £736,000 as a result of giving false information.
The charge relates from the 12th March 2005 – Tuesday 26th October 2010.
The maximum sentence that this carries is 5 years.
Dr Dirk Hoehmann is an ENT Consultant at Nobles hospital, the Department of Health would like to reassure patients that this is a non-related clinical issue and his duties have been covered by other staff, to ensure that patient care is unaffected.
Dr Hoehmann has been remanded in custody until his next hearing.
