It's reported bogus meter readers are calling at properties in Douglas and Peel.
Manx Gas says it's been made aware of two men - who reportedly have strong eastern European accents calling at properties and handing over fake meter reading cards.
They're believed to be dressed in navy blue, but are not wearing Manx Gas branded clothing.
The company says they may be working as a pair or alone and Police have been informed.
The business adds all official meter readers carry branded photographic identity cards which should be clearly displayed - people are told to check those before allowing entry.
