Police were called to Onchan last night following reports a man was seen carrying a suspected firearm.
Tactical Firearms Unit officers were deployed to the area but were unable to find a man matching the description given.
The constabulary says several enquiries were conducted at the scene and members of the public have assisted authorities with ongoing enquiries.
