The Community, Culture and Leisure Minister will ask Tynwald for nearly £700,000 for improvements to Laxey Station track.
If approved, work could start next month and will be the final part of a three-phase development programme, which has cost almost £1.2 million.
The department says it’s essential work be carried out so the Electric Railway can continue to operate safely.
