A Brighton man who's wanted by police in the UK is behind bars on the Isle of Man after lying about his identity.
20-year-old James Johnson was arrested at the Sea Terminal on October 2nd in connection with another matter - officers took him to Police Headquarters where he gave a false name and address.
He was interviewed under caution but the officers suspected he was lying and scanned his fingerprints which then revealed his true identity.
At Douglas Courthouse yesterday Johnson pleaded guilty to a charge of obstructing a police officer in the execution of their lawful purposes.
His advocate told the court Johnson "simply panicked" because there are two outstanding warrants for his arrest with police forces in England - he's also on police bail in North Wales.
Social enquiry reports have now been requested and Johnson will be sentenced on November 10th - an application for bail was refused.
