A man who set off two fire alarms at a block of flats in Onchan will be sentenced next month.
Gavin James Laing of Queens Road appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
He admitted making a false fire alarm as well as criminal damage.
The court heard he’d been visiting a friend in Mountfield Court at 11.20am on March 10 but lost his temper and set off the alarms on the ground and first floors.
26 year old Laing met the fire crew which responded to the alert and admitted he’d broken the glass casing by punching them.
Mrs Hughes said Laing had worsened matters by breaching his bail conditions as he awaited sentencing for other offences at the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
She remanded him in custody, and he’ll appear at the higher court on March 18.
