Douglas Council says regeneration work in the town is picking up pace with the high street set to be rejuvenated before Christmas.
£5 million is being spent on making aesthetic improvements - with new footpaths, lighting and grants for shop owners to help improve their premises.The works in the town centre tie in with the development of the promenades which is estimated to cost over £17 million.
