A senior figure in the development of Douglas town centre believes the ongoing regeneration work is vital to attract fresh business to the island.
Chris Pycroft of Douglas Development Partnership told the station the cosmetics of the town had prevented potential investment over recent years.
Major work to give in and around Strand Street started last year and is set to continue until next summer.
Although this has meant disruption to pedestrians and drivers, Mr Pycroft said it was an issue that urgently needed addressing:
