The Island has been placed on another red weather warning today.
The east coast is likely to face the main impact of a storm surge during this afternoon’s spring tide.
High tide is around 1.50pm and during this time significant coastal overtopping is expected causing further flooding.
Strong to gale force winds and low pressure will result in large waves breaking over promenade walls and sea defences.
People have been asked to take steps to protect their properties and vehicles and to help elderly or vulnerable members of the community.
Road closures will be in place at key locations to ensure people’s safety.
