Red squirrels will not be introduced into the Manx countryside.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has scrapped the idea saying it would be detrimental if they were released into the wild.
Over 100 people had responded to a consultation which was looking at whether the law should be changed.
Minister Richard Ronan says the evidence didn't stack up and there's no justification on conservation grounds:
