5% of Students Achieve A Star Grade
A record pass rate was achieved yesterday by the Island’s A level students.
In total 367 students from the Island's 5 secondary schools entered for A level, that’s the second highest figure on local records.
There was a pass rate of just over 98% with the percentage of A and AS entries achieving grade B or above standing at 38.2, slightly higher than last year’s figure of 36.7%.
Initially there were some problems experienced with the online UCAS track system, which made it difficult for students to determine if they'd been successful in getting onto their desired course, however Paul Craine from the Department of Education and Children has said that this problem was rectified and the greater majority of pupils got into their first choice University.
