The Tynwald Commissioner for Administration says the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture should reconsider refusing to allow a cancer sufferer to fell a tree on their property.
The householder complained after their application was refused, claiming the tree's roots were damaging their home.
Advocate Paul Beckett said DEFA hadn't considered the condition of the property's drive properly, which he found to be procedural maladministration.
In a report due to be laid before Tynwald during its March sitting, he recommended the department reviewed its decision made in November 2024.
