A trio of Douglas businesses have been recognised for their efforts to help keep vital services in the town running during the pandemic.
A special reception was held by Mayor of Douglas, Jon Joughin, and Mayoress, Angela Joughin, to recognise Debbie and Maurice Kelly of Motaworld, John McCallum of Highway Access Window Cleaning Services and Ian Cooil and Kerry MacDuffie of Manx Blind Welfare Society.
Motaworld provided in-cab difuser sanitisers and bottles of sanitiser for frontline crews in the council's waste collection fleet.
Meanwhile, Mr McCallum, of High Access Window Cleaning Services, voluntarily cleaned public lighting columns and deep-cleaned street furniture in the IM2 area free of charge.
Also, Manx Blind Welfare Society prepared bacon baps from their own kitchens then distributed them to key council operatives and baked cakes which were delivered to residents in the council’s sheltered accommodation at Ballanard Court and Hazel Court.
