Onchan Commissioners say they're putting rates up this year - but only by 0.65 per cent.
At the local authority's budget meeting this week the finance and general purposes lead member unveiled spending plans for the coming year.
Martin Macfarlane said the aim is to give the village a small surplus that can be reinvested for the future.
As a result rates will go up by 2p in the pound to 312p - putting £3 a year on the average bill.
