The war memorial in Ramsey has been cordoned off after damage was discovered in its structure.
Ramsey Town Commissioners say a recent inspection found a large crack across the centre of the middle base support of the cross.
The authority added work to repair it gets underway this week.
It's been closed off to minimise potential safety risks to the public.
