The Department of Infrastructure says it hopes to have Ramsey's harbour bridge open to traffic again soon.
In an update on social media, the department says work on the rotting timber decking is now underway and is expected to take between two and three weeks.
The route was shut to vehicles in January for safety reasons.
The DOI says it's committed to reopening the bridge as soon as the work is finished.
