A planning application has been put forward to turn Ramsey Courthouse into a multi-functional community centre.
Ramsey Town Commissioners has submitted plans for the building on behalf of The Heart Of Ramsey (THOR) which currently has a 12-month period of exclusivity there.
Chair of the local authority, Andy Cowie, says the board is pleased with the progress being made to develop the venue and it will continue to host local events over the summer season.
Mr Cowie added he believes the plans are 'ambitious but sympathetic' to the buildings historic nature and will allow it to be used as a 'flexible space for the benefit of the town'.
