Manx Care has applied for planning permission to put a mobile building at Ramsey Cottage Hospital for dental treatment.
In its application, it says the temporary building would be on the site for around 18 months.
It adds it would need to do work to provide a safe surface to put the unit onto.
The plans show the building would be in the car park near the Cumberland Road entrance.
