Ramsey Commissioners have no objection to flats at former Nightlife

Ramsey Commissioners have no objection to plans to convert the former Nightlife club and Saddle Hotel into five apartments and a shop.

The board discussed the issue last week (17 April) and agreed not to comment on the application for alterations to the Saddle Buildings in Market Place.

Applicant S&A Consultants, on behalf of the property owners, wants to create five ‘self-contained apartments’ on the first floor of the registered building, with a ‘retail area’ underneath.

Commissioner Luke Parker proposed the board should comment on the lack of parking provision within the plan, but his suggestion was voted down.

He said ‘it’s great the development is being brought forward, but what impact is a potential ten new tenants going to have on parking in the town?’.

In the applicant’s supporting documents, it’s suggested those who live in the apartments could make use of the public car park on Market Place and apply for a residents permit.

You can view the application online via government’s consultation hub.
