The Roads Policing Unit issued the warning on Facebook after stopping a young biker on Saturday.
R-plate drivers are restricted to 50mph for the first year after passing their test - but at the weekend they say one motorbike rider was caught doing more than 100mph.
Officers say he'll now appear in court and could be handed a ban.
