A man from the UK is searching for the descendants of a Manx soldier after finding a unique World War One artifact.
David Murray, from Manchester, discovered a note from Edward Arthur Kermode hidden inside a German cartridge case found on a Belgian battlefield.
Gunner Kermode served with New Zealand artillery after moving to Christchurch to work as an engineer - he survived the war and left the army in 1919.
Mr Murray says he now wants to reunite the note with the soldier's family.
