The chair of the government's Housing and Communities Board says it spent almost £6,000 last year clearing up after people in emergency accommodation.
The figure was given by David Ashford MHK in response to a question for written reply from Onchan MHK Rob Callister about the £5,913.24 spent on damages.
Mr Ashford said the money had been paid to hostels, B&Bs and hotels for clearing belongings left behind, replacing damaged furniture or bedding and deep cleaning rooms.
He says there'll always be the need for such a budget, which is monitored.
