Middle MHK Howard Quayle has been appointed as the chairman of the Manx Electricity Authority.
He succeeds former MLC Eddie Lowey who held the role for eight years.
After putting his own name forward Mr Quayle was approved for the position by Tynwald earlier this week.
He says he has paid much interest in the MEA over recent years and looks forward to steering the authority on a positive course into the future.
