100 years ago today, the Pulrose estate was purchased by the Douglas Corporation.
That's according to Douglas West MHK Chris Thomas, who says they paid £19,000 with a view to use it as a rubbish tip for the short-term, whilst looking into building a housing estate for the future.
The date was referenced in the book 'Douglas Centenary 1896-1996' when the council was 100 years old.
