Department of Infrastructure Want Public Feedback on Island\'s Taxi Service
The Department of Infrastructure are seeking the public’s views on some radical changes proposed for the Island’s taxi service.
It all relates to the possible introduction of an all-Island ply-for-hire taxi service, as it stands taxis are currently restricted to one of four zones on the Island.
The Public are asked to give their thoughts on if they think the restriction should be lifted, they’ll also be asked for their thoughts on the taxi service as a whole.
Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne has said although the prospect of an all Island service has been met with derision by taxi drivers in the Douglas area, it's something that needs to be opened up to the whole Island to have their say on.
