There has been a significant increase in the number of investment scams reported to the Office of Cyber Security and Information Assurance.
That's according to the oganisation's report for July and August.
During the two month period OCSIA received a report about a local company, GEL Holdings Limited, that was falsely listed as the operating company behind a scam investment website.
The scammers had been taking investors' money and not retuning funds, using the name of the Manx company to add legitimacy.
OCSIA says they quickly had the website taken down after contacting the National Cyber Security Centre.
