The public are being warned about hoax phone calls from people claiming to be the Manx Electricity Authority.
A number of the calls have been reported where people are asked to verify the serial number on their meter and then being told that en emergency rate is being applied to their account.
The Office of fair trading are urging members of the public if they get a suspicious phone call to report it to MEA’s Customer Services Team.
