Public Viewing Ahead of Prison Auction Today

The public will get the chance to view the extensive array of goods on offer in the Victoria Road Prison Auction, taking place tomorrow.

The last time an auction of this scale took place it was at the old Grand Island Hotel site, the same sort of logic applies here, the aim is to completely clear out the prison of all its old goods.

Everything must go tomorrow in the auction, among the hottest items on offer are the Victorian Cellar Doors, those for the infamous condemned man’s cell 4 and 5 are expected to cause a bidding war.

You can begin viewing the items at the prison this morning at 9.30, they’ll be available for perusal until 4.30pm.

The auction itself will take place tomorrow, on site at the old prison from 10am.
