Public outrage over Jurby Church thefts

Police have spoken to 3FM about the swell of public support following the thefts of religious artefacts from Jurby Church at the end of last week.

Between June 28th and 30th a window was broken and two silver collection plates and a medieval style chalice were taken.

A 22 year old man has since been arrested and interviewed in connection with the incident, he’s currently on bail pending further enquiries.

Sergeant Andy Kneen from Ramsey Police Station said the thefts proved to be a major discussion point on the social networking sites.
