A number of Public meetings are to be held over the coming weeks to discuss proposed improvements to the Island’s Diabetes Service.
It was recently deemed that the current system of care for Diabetics on the Island should change as levels of people being seen at the Centre had reached unsustainable levels.
Starting from 1st February patients with good diabetic control and minimal complications will be transferred from the Centre to GP practices in an effort to free up space for those in serious need of attention.
In the meetings the public will have the chance to put their queries to Director of Health Strategy and Performance, Norman McGregor Edwards.
The meeting date, times and venues are as follows:
· Ramsey Commissioners Office on Wednesday, 12 January 2011, at 7pm
· Keyll Darree (next to Noble’s Hospital main entrance) on Friday, 14 January, at 7pm
· Castletown Commissioners Office on Wednesday, 19 January, at 7pm
· Peel Masonic Lodge on Friday, 21 January, at 7pm.
