A public occasion to celebrate the life of Hector Duff will take place next week.
The much-loved and decorated veteran passed away peacefully on Monday (November 30) at the age of 101.
The Onchan Branch of the Royal British Legion, of which Mr Duff was president, says his funeral will be a private service, however members of the public are invited to join his family afterwards at the Villa Marina in Douglas between 3pm and 5pm next Thursday (December 10) to celebrate his life.
The organisation says the occasion will be an afternoon of memories, stories and music - adding 'let's give Hector the send off he truly deserves'.
