Residents are being reminded they can use roadside salt bins to reduce the risk of slipping on ice.
In a post on social media, government says even roads or pavements that have been gritted can re-freeze if it hails, rains or snows.
It comes as the Island is battling with temperatures of -6, with ice, frost and wintry showers continuing to cause havoc for those travelling.
