Public bodies could have to submit a yearly report on their climate change measures.
According to the Climate Change Act 2021, public bodies should contribute towards meeting the Island's zero emissions target and protect and enhance biodiversity.
If approved by Tynwald, government departments and local authorities will have to produce a report on their progress towards being more sustainable to see what improvements could be made.
Their first report would be due in 2023.
