That's what Middle MHK Bill Shimmins will ask Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer in the House of Keys next week.
His question comes after the Department of Infrastructure unveiled its proposed new look for the prom earlier this month.
Mr Shimmins will ask why it's necessary to shut the prom for so long while the work is carried out.
