The Department of Infrastructure says the raw materials for a planned revamp of Douglas Promenade would cover 263 football pitches.
It'll use more than 16,000 tonnes of aggregate and 17,500 tonnes of tarmac as it improves Douglas Promenade.
Minister Ray Harmer says the £25 million project to revamp the capital's seafront will take three years to finish and employ 50 people.
The work will start in September and Mr Harmer says the DOI will try to minimise traffic disruption.
