The Department of Infrastructure's revealed it'll spend more than £2.2 million on professional fees as it revamps Douglas promenade.
A freedom of information request asked for the figures from the DOI - which said four external companies had been hired.
The scheme, costing around £25 million, will take three years to complete as workers reconstruct the seafront.
The DOI says after it's finished it won't need more major work for 40 years.
