Health Minister, David Ashford MHK, says officials have 'considered with an open mind' how to best operate private healthcare on Island.
His comments came as the government launched a public consultation on the matter yesterday as part of a major review into private facilities at Noble's Hospital.
Mr Ashford added the private ward there hasn't changed much since 2003 and needs to be 'substantially upgraded'.
The consultation is open for seven weeks and is available on the government website.
