Anthony John Richard Lyons, whose address was given as Jurby prison, appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes via a live video link.
He entered no plea to a single charge of possessing 28 grams of cannabis with intent to supply it on December 21 last year.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the hearing prison officers suspected the 35 year old had drugs, and searched him after smelling cannabis.
The court heard the 11 wraps of drugs found were worth £2,840, although Lyons disputed that valuation, and he’d told prison staff the drugs were for his own use.
He was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on June 6
