E-cig introduction isn't 'going soft on prisoners'

Introducing electronic cigarettes into the Isle of Man Prison is expected to save around £15,000 a year. 

That's according to the Department of Home Affairs which is hoping it will be given Tynwald permission to start a six month trial. 

If successful nicotine replacement patches, which help people with nicotine withdrawal symptoms, will be withdrawn: 

The Isle of Man went smoke free in 2008 when the lock-up relocated to Jurby.
